The Burma Media Association is an independent organization established in January 2001 by overseas Burmese journalists, reporters and writers who practice and advocate freedom of expression in Burma.

 Help Burmese Journalists and Media Personnel Affected by Cyclone Nargis  

On 2-3 May 2008 cyclone Nargis hit the coast of Burma and devastated large parts of the low-lying delta regions including Irrawaddy and Rangoon divisions. The cyclone caused catastrophic destruction and 143,000 fatalities. More than 2 million survivors of cyclone Nargis are in urgent need of medical care, clean water, food and shelter.
